Install Music Assistant
Choose where Music Assistant will run.
Install with Docker Compose
Install Music Assistant on an always-on Linux system. Host networking is required so it can find and stream to your players.

Create a Compose file
Save this as compose.yaml. Uncomment the music volume and change its path if you want to include local files.

Start Music Assistant
Run this from the folder containing your Compose file.
Terminaldocker compose up -d -
Open Music Assistant
Visit http://YOUR_MA_IP_ADDRESS:8095 in your browser.
Players not appearing? Check that Music Assistant and your speakers are on the same local network.
Install the Home Assistant app
Music Assistant runs alongside Home Assistant on Home Assistant OS.

Open the App store
In Home Assistant, go to Settings → Apps → App store.

Install Music Assistant
Search for Music Assistant, open it, and choose Install.

Start the app
When installation finishes, start Music Assistant and select Open Web UI.

Optional: add the integration
Add the Music Assistant integration to control players from Home Assistant dashboards, automations and voice.
Once you’re in

Add your music
Connect a streaming service, local files, radio or another source from Settings.

Check your players
Supported AirPlay, Google Cast, DLNA, Sendspin and Sonos players are discovered automatically.

Press play
Choose a speaker and press play. Your library may take a few minutes to appear.
